We are delighted to share the date of our annual Finlay Brewer Christmas Carol Service! This wonderful event has become a much anticipated evening in calendars far and wide and we can confirm that this year’s service will be held on Monday 8th December and will once again be held at the beautiful St Matthew’s Church (100 Masbro Road W14).
The Carol Service will be raising money for 2 truly deserving charities - Heartburn Cancer UK and the Shepherds Bush Families Project & Children’s Centre, and you can start taking your seats at 6.30pm in time for the service which will start promptly at 7pm.
We will be delighted to see you there, please RSVP [email protected] by Friday 28th November to let us know you are coming so we have enough seats!
The Shepherds Bush Families Project and Children’s Centre do incredibly valuable work for the local community. The charity was established in 1988 in response to the growing need for housing assistance within the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and has been supporting families facing the threat of homelessness in conjunction with other unmet housing needs for 35 years. By providing a range of educational and recreational services and activities, the charity enables children and young people to flourish both at home and at school.
Our second charity is Heartburn Cancer UK, a charity working to raise awareness of the early signs of Oesophageal Cancer. Founded in 2002 by Mimi McCord, they continue to expand and do incredibly important work in educating the public on how the disease is detected, diagnosed and treated.
“We are delighted that our Carol Service is still such a roaring success over 10 years later and remains an important fixture in the calendars of our unique community – friends and clients who have become friends! Over the years we have raised a considerable sum for very worthwhile charities thanks to the support of our local community and we hope to continue to spread Christmas cheer for many years to come!” - Simon Gresswell

Homelessness isn't only about sleeping rough on the streets. Housing security and homelessness cover a wide range of situations. Many homeless people have a roof over their heads without having a proper home, because where they live is temporary, insecure, overcrowded, unsanitary or unsafe.
