🏉 Bingham RFC Takes on the M6/50 Challenge
From Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd November 2025, Dan Martin (U13s Coach) and Chris Packer (Little Ruggers Coach & Club Secretary) will pull on their Bingham colours for a different kind of shift.
Instead of a muddy pitch and a rugby ball, we will be facing down a Wattbike for the M6/50 Challenge: riding 1,000,000 metres (621 miles) in under 50 hours as a pair alongside four other riders completing the same challenge at Havant RFC.
We’ll be riding through:
• Bingham’s 1st XV home clash with Skegness • Three Autumn Internationals on the big screen 📺• And on Sunday morning a final push with the energy and encouragement of our Minis & Juniors 🙌
The Challenge. The M6/50 was created in 2022 by Chris’s cousin, Rob “KP” Packer, in memory of a Royal Navy colleague. It’s a test of grit, endurance, and teamwork, values we know well in rugby. The rules are simple: two riders, alternating turns, must clock up a million metres inside 50 hours. It’s not a race, but make no mistake it’s a battle of body and mind.
Who We’re Backing. We are riding for three incredible causes close to our club’s heart:
• Blood Cancer UK – in memory of Dan’s wife, who passed away 10 years ago.• The Matt Hampson Foundation – inspiring and supporting young people seriously injured through sport.• The National Autistic Society – promoting understanding and support for autistic people and their families.
Bingham RFC are proud to support both The Matt Hampson Foundation and The National Autistic Society, with their logos proudly displayed on our club shirts every week.
Why rugby? This challenge was born from rugby friendships and will be completed in rugby clubs. Rugby values – teamwork, resilience, community – are at the heart of the M6/50.Although they’ll still be in friendly competition with two other pairs tackling the same challenge at Havant RFC, including Chris’s cousin Rob.
How You Can SupportThis is about more than distance – it’s about community. Every donation helps our lads push through the dark hours, just like a team digs in during the final minutes of a tough match.
💙 Please donate, share, and get behind them as they fly the flag for Bingham RFC both on and off the pitch.
