PROJECT 101 + 4

When: 1901 29th October (Halloween Weekend)) – 0001 3rd November
What is it? I’m aiming to run 1 Mile an hour, every hour for 101 hours between North Wales Police (NWP) Force HQ in Colwyn Bay and Woody’s Lodge HQ at Eirias Park in Colwyn Bay.
I will also be wearing a different Halloween costume for each 24 hour period.
Why? To raise much needed funds for and awareness of Woody’s Lodge, whilst highlighting the amazing work they do on behalf of UK Military and Emergency Services Veterans and their families.
Who am I? I’m Gareth Shilton (Shilts), the NWP Force Physical Training Instructor (PTI), and a former RAF and Royal Marine recruit, Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) Combat Medic and Royal Army Physical Training Corps (RAPTC) PTI veteran.
What 4? In 2020, I ran 51 miles over a 48-hour period on behalf of Combat Stress, the event was called the Shoggins challenge and took inspiration from the David Goggins challenge, set by a former US Navy Seal. The Goggins challenge was 4 x 4 x 48, 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. To make that a little more challenging, I decided to break it down into 1 x 1 x 48, 1 mile every hour for 48 hours, however I completed an additional mile per full 24 hours and 1 extra mile for the Queen. I always intended to double the feat, hence project 101. So, this time, I will aim to run, 1 x 1 x 101 with an additional 1 mile per full 24 hours as I did in 2020.
Total = 101 hours, 105 miles, 4 complete marathons

Update 27 Oct : I've had to move the challenge forward by 24hours in order to finish on Monday morning. I'm on a work course stating at 0900 Monday morning and will be working all week.
