The Wall Run Ultra Marathon 2026

I’m running 70 miles along Hadrian's Wall on 13th June 2026 to raise money for two causes that mean the world to me, in memory of two incredible people whose lives were cut short far too soon.

The first is Alice House Hospice, who provided extraordinary care and compassion for David. Uncle to our two daughters, David showed such love for both and they adored him in return. The kindest, most generous and dryly hilarious human, David was sadly diagnosed with, then died of, a rare form of cancer. Through it all, Alice House offered calm and comfort, and they continue to go above and beyond to support David's family. Their staff are wonderful, making an unbearable situation that little bit more bearable. Supporting them is my way of saying thank you from us all and helping to ensure that other families get the same vital care when they need it most.

The second cause is the RNLI, in memory of Chris “Boy” Osbourne, who I had the privilege of calling a friend. I first met Boy while working at Rockley Watersports near Hossegor in southwest France. He was one of those rare people who left a mark on everyone - effortlessly funny, brave, and generous to the core. We used to teach watersports during the day, having been beaten up by 10ft Atlantic swells with 5am 'dawny' surfs, then finish each day planning how we'd do better the following morning (over a few cheap, warm, French stubby beers).
The sea was in his blood, and so is the RNLI’s mission. Their crews go out in all weathers, without hesitation, to save lives. It’s hard to think of a better way to honour Boy’s legacy than to support the very people who share his spirit of selflessness and adventure.

Running this ultra marathon is my way of carrying both of their memories forward — mile after mile, in sweat and struggle and perseverance. It’s my way of turning grief into something hopeful and useful. Every donation, no matter the size, helps someone else. And it keeps their stories alive.
